Denis Prevolšek was born on August 28, 1982 in Rijeka. He graduated from the University of Rijeka Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management, where he was a part of numerous projects such as formulation of the Master Plan for the Primorsko-Goranska County, as well as forming the developmental model for “Small Family Hotels”.

He gained his first work experiences in the tourism sector while in high school, and after university graduation went to the US where he acquired further experience in the field of hotel operations.

He started his career as an intern at the company Valamar Riviera Inc., where he worked his way up the corporate ladder to the position of assistant director, and was appointed the Hotel’s director in 2010; first as director at the Valamar Crystal Hotel till the end of 2011., then at the Valamar Riviera Hotel till the December of 2016. After that he became regional hotel manager for Valamar Riviera which includes: Valamar Isabella Miramare 5*, Valamar Isabella Villas 5*, Valamar Isabella Castle 5*, Valamar Isabella Hotel 4*, Valamar Riviera Hotel 4*, Valamar Parentino 4*+ te Valamar Isabella Villas 4*. He is responsible for quality, organization, budget and operations. He holds capacity of 1 300 beds and 530 employees.

In his short career he was a guest lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Tourism “Dr. Mijo Mirković”, and at a workshop entitled “Hotel Managers 2011”. He is the author of the scientific paper “Challenges of Controlling in the Hotel Industry of the 21st Century”, published in the collection of works “Accounting and Management.”

The Valamar Riviera Hotel, which he heads, is the winner of numerous prestigious awards:  2013 World Travel Award – for Croatia’s Leading Boutique Hotel, 2014 World Travel Award – for Croatia’s Leading Boutique Hotel, TripAdvisor – 2013 – Travellers’ Choice Winner, 2014 – Top 25 Hotels in Croatia, TripAdvisor – Certificate of Excellence, Thompson Gold Medal 2013.
